What are Virtual Servers?
A Virtual Dedicated Server is much different than shared hosting. Virtual Private Servers (VPS) is middle ground from shared hosting, and dedicated servers. With a VPS you get dedicated CPU time, Disk IOs, and memory. VPSs are often called containers, If you think of a dedicated server, you would normally have 100% of the machine. With a VPS, we are able to section off a dedicated box into sections or containers. This allows us to put more than one person on the server allowing us to cut the cost, and give real nice middle ground in the hosting industry.
With our Virtual Servers you are hosted on our Cloud. So your Virtual Server is backed by many machines. If your looking at a high availability Virtual Dedicated Server. Each one of our Virtual Dedicated Servers are independantly rebootable, and each one runs their own operating system. So you can change files at the system level if you need. Kernel changes, or modifications are also welcomed.
Virtual Dedicated Servers are also great for development enviroments. So if your looking at doing some development works with your website that requires new software, or even could cause downtime for debugging. Our VDSs allow you to isolate your production enviroment from your development enviroment.
